We've loved kicking off 2019 with a month of prayer! Acts 1:14 describes what the 120 of Jesus followers did whilst they were waiting in Jerusalem for the promise of the Holy Spirit. They gathered together in one accord and devoted themselves to prayer. They were awaiting the delivery of something they had been promised, and their reaction was to pray the promise in. God has been speaking prophetic promises over this church plant for the last two years or so. It's been great over the last month to spend some time praying in those promises and asking God to be with us right at the start of an exciting year. God has clearly been speaking to us about ground works and the importance of preparation. This will be a year of laying foundations and defining some vision, therefore we want to make sure we are building on good ground. Pray for a continued prophetic vision and that God would show us the details for the building project of starting a church here in Berlin. Please continue to pray for more team to join our family. Pray people who carry our values and dna as New Ground would be called to join this exciting adventure.

It was fun exploring the Christmas markets through December, enjoying tasty gluhwein and all the festivities. As a group we were joined by some guests and family members to celebrate our first Berlin Adventure Christmas together. Meditating on the incarnation of Christ has really helped us to reflect more on the mission God has called us to here in Berlin. Jesus took on flesh and was born (wow!). He grew up as a seemingly unimpressive man (Isaiah 53:2) and adapted to living in a culture. We're slowly adapting to our new life here in Berlin, learning how to love and be Berliners. God has called us as New Ground to plant churches, which involves pioneering works into new countries and cultures. We are so blessed to arrived in the influential city of Berlin and can't wait to be a blessing. We're super excited for 2019, it's going to be a very significant year for us as a church plant. We'll be defining some vision and culture, and starting our Non-Profit 'Verein' charity. In January we'll be joined by new team members and kicking off the year with a month of prayer. January is always a good opportunity to stop and give thanks to God for all He has done over the past year. God is SO good, steadfast and faithful, providing for us every step of the way on this Berlin Adventure. Personally we are entering a new season of living by faith as Sarah goes full time again as a self-employed musician. We are trusting God for His provision each day and month, and praying for some exciting music work for Sarah. Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers. Happy New Year!
